Orange is the New Black

Okay so maybe black lips never caught on, but I thought it was a catchy title nonetheless ... well, for those who have stumbled upon the recent american series 'orange is the new black'.
Anyways, whilst us norms are still wrapping up in a multitude of layers, the ever glamourous industry that is fashion have already released the 2014 spring trends, keeping my optimism as to the arrival of sun somewhat alive.
The orange lip has been a reoccurrence for quite some time. This year, the likes of John Galliano and dsquared2 are but a few to have sprang this up on the runway and to have yet again, made it a 'go to' statement lip for the spring months to come.

MAC's 'Vegas Volt' Lipstick
If you're feeling a bit on the daring side, this is bright enough to make a statement whilst still remaining somewhat casual. It isn't block orange as such but rather holding a pinker undertone. It's an 'amplified' formula so is rather pigmented, but still maintains a little moisture to make upkeep fairly easy.

Bourjois Colour Boost Lip Crayon in 'Orange Boost'
This ones a little more fuss free and easier to pull off on an everyday basis. It offers more of a sheer wash of colour, accompanied by a glossy finish. It is however completely travel friendly with it being a crayon application.

Rimmel Moisture Renew in 'In Love With Ginger'
Yet another statement lip choice. Highly pigmented but full of hydration, making it perfect for those suffering from dry lips... i.e me. However, with it being more of a hydrating formula, I find that it doesn't last all too long, resulting in frequent reapplication. It's also a supposed dupe for MAC's Morange but don't hold me to that.. I've yet to find out.
