Eyeliner 101

Now I did pre-warn on a previous post that content would be sparse in the next two months due to A levels, but a whole week... Is that dust starting to form on here? I couldn't avoid my blogging itches any longer so let us begin with a simple question...

What is a world without eyeliner? Certainly a place with smaller eyes, thats what. Eyeliner has and always will be a not so secret weapon in any girl's make up bag and the variety on offer makes for an endless list of options.

The pencil Liner:
As humble as the simple pencil liner may seem, it can provide a vast array of options for a women on the go. Wether it be to define the waterline or smoked out on the upper and lower lash line, both are quick and easy ways to vamp up a simple day look. Formula is everything in a pencil liner; smudge-able but doesn't budge; creamy but not slippery... you've just got to get the balance right. I would highly recommend the Rimmel Kohl Kajal Liners, providing both a workable formula and a purse friendly price.

The Liquid Liner:
This definitely takes a little more practise, but once you've mastered the arts, the results are that of a clean cut line and a winner for winged liner. I must say if you're a winged liner fanatic, this can be both your best friend.. but also your worst enemy; Just be sure to have make up remover or cotton buds close at hand for any mistakes. I find it especially easy with felt tip liners to rest and press it horizontally on the upper lash line for a more subtle definition.

The Gel Liner:
If you're finding it difficult to control the terrors of liquid liner but still want to achieve that classic cat eye then gel liner will be your best pal. With a thicker formula and a precise brush at hand, the process is a whole lot easier to control the thickness of your flick and definition along the lash line; It's also tonnes quicker to correct any mistakes! The formula also allows you to smudge and smoke out, providing either added drama or to be used as a base under darker shadows or pigments. If you're on the hunt for one, I would recommend Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Liner, which has previously been compared to MAC's Fluidline in 'Blacktrack'.
