Introducing : STYLIGHT

Having been recently introduced to this site and thought I would share my thoughts and opinions on what the site has to offer and how it may help or even benefit all you that are fond of fashion or even a blogger much like myself.

I am constantly on the look out for outfit inspirations and how I can pair key pieces with one another and Instagram accounts have often provided me with some fancy pictures. However, as of right now, I've found a fabulous new source..STYLIGHT ... now the capitals isn't really for my effective purposes, the brand is actually in caps. Stands out, don't you think?

Keep Moisturised: Fall&Winter

When the seasons reach fall and winter, I'm pretty sure our skin is the first to detect and react to the change in weather conditions before we consciously even realise it ourselves. My skin is generally pretty dry except for the T- zones of my face and well lets face it, every other teenager suffers with that ordeal. So to support my skin through the horrifying weather conditions to come, I have a few products to help keep hydrated.

THOUGHTS: Maybelline 'Diamond Glow' Quad

(£7.19)

When I finally decide to release my grasp off summer, I automatically go on the hunt for the classic autumnal shades. Auburns, dark woody tones, all of which I have a slight love for.

Michael Kors: Watch

Watches weren't really something that came to the top of my mind of things to invest in and I was never really interested. To me, it was simply a device to tell the time, and since I was born into the era where every kid and his toy had a phone, I didn't really see any need for one. Of course like all kids, we sported the odd barbie or dora the explorer set but it was never all that extravagant. Now, I don't know if its with age but for some strangely odd reason, I mentally decided that this year I would finally invest in a decent watch.

Eyes Of The Day #1

I play with eye make up often, whether it be for college or a special event. Either way, I love a good statement eye look and change it up whenever I can or have the time to experiment. With it being autumn, I have really been loving the more cranberry and soft browns to complement the seasonal change in colours.

For the base, I used the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in 'Metallic Pomegranate' which is a gorgeous warm berry with a pink undertone to not only help the shadows last but to complement and intensify the crease shades.
As I said, I have been loving the berry tones this season, so to intensify the base colour I packed on the darkest shade in the Mayelline Diamond Glow quad in 'Coral Drama' on the outer third of the lid and blended it in using a Sigma E40 Tapered blending brush. I'm going to do a separate post on this product so I won't say too much except the fact that I can not say enough good things about this quad.
I the gently buffed in 'Buck' from the Naked palette through the top of the shadow and where the base and the dark colour meet for a blended transition.
Lastly, I used 2nd to darkest shade in the same palette and lightly applied it as my inner corner highlight and slightly on the lash line for the added definition and glow.
For the liner, I used Maybelline Eye Studio Gel liner to line my upper lash line and slightly wing it out at the ends.

I think this is a great look for both casual or evening if you want to smoke it out at the lash line for added intensity!

OOTD #1

So this is actually my first outfit of the day post.... hence the #1 in the title... but this was too gorgeous an ensemble to pass up! I have been in love with kimonos and this one happens to be my latest purchase from River Island for £30 and because it is quite sheer, can be easily paired over numerous outfits. Underneath is a simple chiffon tank from topshop in a bright neon orange. White jeans are a staple in my wardrobe and I could wear them everyday, These are from Zara and are some of the comfiest pair of jeans I own!
Lastly, there's the Boots. These are also a recent purchase from River island and are a staple in my fall and winter wardrobe. Being 5'2 I need the height so these chunky heels make me at least average whilst still remaining comfortable.

Baby Lips VS Smoochies

LEFT- Covergirl's Smoochies in '#Tweet Me' | RIGHT- Maybelline Babylips in 'Cherry Me'
Tinted lip balms have been quite the rage this summer, so naturally on my travels to the US, I felt obliged to collect a few that I did not yet own or were not available in the UK. Of course with my luck, as soon as I finally get my hands on the coveted Maybelline BabyLips, the drugstores decide to release them in the UK... which I guess in a way is a good thing.

THE DAILY DOSE: My Fall Teas

Im british... and we british love a good old classic 'cuppa' from time to time... or everyday in some cases. In the summer, I really got into flavoured Ice teas, Lipton's Peach Ice Tea being one of my favourites! So going into this fall season, I figured that in order to keep up with my new found love, Flavoured tea bags were the way to go.

Dual Chrome Manicure

£7.99 (Boots)

In the past, my preference for polishes has always stirred me away from dual chrome shades for no particular reason. However, going into fall and with the change in colours, I figured that it would be the perfect opportunity to change up my selection to kick start the autumn season.

THOUGHTS: Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum

£10.99 (Superdrug)

When it comes to foundations, I'm not really the type to sport a full coverage formula often. On an everyday basis, I tend to steer toward the BB creams and if I'm fortunate enough to be blessed with a good skin day then concealer would do the job just fine. When reading the phrase 'Gel Foundation' I was a tad skeptical on how natural the finish would be. However being a firm follower of EssieButton from youtube, I simply couldn't resist the purchase.

My 'Go To' Berry Lip Combination

LEFT- Plumful | MIDDLE- Double Dare | RIGHT- plumful layered with double dare
Due to the drastic temperature changes in this lovely place we call England, I can now officially say it is Autumn. Now, I'm not all too into the colder months as I much prefer the shorts and tee look but make up is something that I quite look forward to changing up, what with the more dark vampy tones in season.

The Hair Tie-less Hair Do

So as you can tell from the above image, my mane is quite the length and I often find myself (especially during class) wanting to throw it up but being blessed with the unfortunate situation of not having a hair tie.

I actually don't know how this even happened or when that little brain of mine decided that this was an idea that would actually work, but it didn't turn out all too bad. It's simple, quick and sufficient for those with long hair wanting to throw it up in seconds.

THOUGHTS: Bourjois Bronzing Primer

Trolling through Boots on the oh so fabulous 'buy 1 get another 50% off' deal' I decided it was time to give this fairly new release a test. I've had my eye on the Chanel soleil tan de chanel for quite some time but figured I should give this one ago before hammering the bank account on a bronzer. Also, having heard Chanel owns Bourjois (or vice versa) I thought it would be of the same concept. I absolutely love to contour so the idea of a cream bronzer ticks all the boxes for me!

Manicures Of The French

Now I'm not all to sure if the french manicure actually originated from the french but it does seem a tad strange if say, the Portuguese discovered it and named it 'french'.
However I'm pretty sure that when it comes to the humble manicure, the French manicure will almost always certainly come out on top. Nowadays, I find that acrylic nailed white tips can come off a tad too fake what with just about every girl caked with make up, dangling extensions, topped off with the over sized fake nail somewhat giving the once sophisticated manicure a negative impression. Don't get me wrong, I think acrylics can make such a difference but I do suggest not going over the top and choosing a size and length that do not match your hands.

The Liebster Awards

I have seen countless posts on various blogs about The Liebster Awards. Recently, I was kindly nominated by the lovely Lucy which I really appreciated but I didn't want to write the post until I was sure of what the award was actually about and where it originated from.

From what I have learnt, it is simply just an award that is given from blogger to blogger to help discover new bloggers. Im not too sure on the follower limit to be eligible for this as it ranges from 200 up to about 3000.. yeah, there are a variety of rules, its all a tad confusing. To sum it all up, it is basically like a chain letter, so you can choose to accept it, write a post and nominate others or just ignore it and break the chain.

Personally, I think this is all a lovely concept to help discover new bloggers ( such as myself) and help to put themselves out there!

So basically, I think the rules are:

1.tag a few new bloggers
2. answer the questions given to you by the person you were tagged with
3.make up a set of questions of your own

Here are the questions I answered given by Lucy :-

7.would you rather go a week with ugly clothes or a week with no make up?

Seche Vite VS Revlon Quick Dry Top Coat (DUPE)

Nail polish will forever hold a special place in my dear heart. It is of course, what introduced me to the wondrous world that is beauty . Seche Vite was a product that I would continuously contemplate on purchasing, being a tad on the pricey side for a clear top coat. However, pondering on the FeelUnique summer sales, the offer of £8 caught my attention and so I quickly snatched it up. Deciding that it was something that I would eventually want to try and cave on anyway.
Seeing as though my previous 'Beauty battle off' post had proven quite popular I thought you all would find this equally as useful.

Bioderma VS L'Oréal Micellar Solution

Back in the day, I was an avid cleansing wipes user and they were all rage, little did I know how almost poisonous they were to our beloved skin. Since switching to cleansing waters, I have since found that I in fact have oily skin and do not have a natural red tinge thanks to the lack of alcohols present in the solutions.

cleanser wise, Bioderma has always been, shall I say, a 'holy grail' product that features heavily in both my morning and night routines. So when there was a speculation of a supposed dupe for my well loved micellar water at a fraction of a price, Though I was sad to part with my Bioderma, I was intrigued to experiment and put it through it's paces.

BACK TO SCHOOL: Lips Of Choice

In order of lip products in previous images
When considering a lip product suitable for school/ college days, quite a few factors come into consideration: longevity, comfort, effort etc. Most would stay within their comfort zone and opt for a simple chap stick and breaking boundaries would be a tinted lip balm, Which to be honest, I have no problem with. At the end of the day, that option is hassle free and no fuss is included. However being a lip product lover, I do often like to wear a spot of colour on the lips as I feel that it can make a look more put together and like effort has been made. Most days, I would swerve toward the 'my lips but better' shades (I know, cliché statement alert!) but on the days that I am feeling a bit on the daring side, I tend to opt for the classic red lip. So here are some options that I find fit the bill perfectly.

The 'Go To' Nude

LEFT- MAC 'Shy girl' | MIDDLE - L'oréal Colour riche balm in 'tender mauve' | RIGHT- The 2 layered on top

Although a shocking bold lip will always be a favourite for me, recently I have done a complete180 and become a lover of a simple nude lip. I think the reason being is that I have been drawn
toward the more dramatic eye look so it is only natural to pair it with a more nude shade lip so as to not
overwhelm the face. It was always a slight challenge finding a nice nude shade as I didn't want to seem
washed out or even worse... ill in any way so I was fairly cautious when it came to the concealer-like nude
shades.

THE BALM Mary-Lou Manizer Hightlighter

This has been lingering on my wish list for the longest time. I was planning on purchasing it during my trip to the US but not so surprisingly I blew my budget not even half way through the vacation so that idea was a no go. However, I'm glad that I waited as scrolling through the Feel Unique website after hearing of a summer sale I found that this was in fact on sale for £12. I squealed at the sight of it on my screen and that alone made my week. After finding a few other bargain picks, I couldn't wait for it to arrive.

I had never purchased 'The Balm' products before hand so I was intrigued to find how this would fair to other brands of similar price. I've heard countless positive comments on this highlighter and so my expectations where of high standard. At first glance, the packaging is adorable and eye catching and I find the design similar to that of a Benefit product.
