Dream Flawless Nude VS Nude Magique

There are no excuses for my extended absence other than... uni?
I digress. Quickly.

Something I must point out first and foremost is that I hate the feeling of foundation, or just having an unnatural layer caked over the top of my skin. If my complexion decides on being nice that day then concealer all the way, but if needs be then a light mattifying coverage is the way to go (being an oily t-zone sufferer). Hence when L'oreal released their Nude Magique foundation, heaven opened up in the aisles of Boots. However, a host of brands have been releasing their own take on the liquid to powder formula, including more recently, the more budget friendly Maybelline. So a comparison post was deemed to be inevitable.

A Few Autumn Beauty Picks

So my break from blogging was somehow unintentionally extended, but lets just pretend I never left shall we...
As much as I loved summer, I found myself starting to ache for those darker autumnal hues and the opportunity to whack out Rebel or Diva (MAC fiends will relate). So when september finally made an appearance, I got a little too excited about the fact that my staples would soon do a complete 180.

BUDGET BEAUTY: Ebay Brushes

I may have been a little impatient with trying them before taking pictures, so please excuse the ratchet looking brushes...

I've been looking into buying a few new brushes for a while, but didn't particularly fancy spending £100 on a sigma set. I had heard a few good reviews on brushes from Ebay in the past, but was always a little skeptical on the quality. Though whilst having a general browse through, this set caught my eye being just £14.99 and looking pretty substantial.

The Science Behind Beauty: 5 Chemicals To Avoid

Though a love for beauty is somewhat obvious, I quickly took an interest soon after in the key ingredients that make up our beloved holy grails, and how certain chemicals can make an extensive difference ... good or bad.
I've now gotten into the habit of checking the seemingly endless list of ingredients to try and spot the nasties, sparking warning signs.

MONTHLY FAVOURITES: January

Congrats everyone, we did it! We officially got through the most depressing month of the year. To be honest I think its flown by, but having to get back into that continuous routine has been quite the challenge. Nonetheless, I have discovered some crackers in the month of January and can't wait to share them with you all.
Eating a tangerine while writing this and it's so dry I can almost feel my mouth dehydrating... *shuffles to the bin*.

THOUGHTS: L'Oreal Miss Manga Mascara

With manga, abnormally large doe eyes spring to mind. Now who wouldn't want that... I know I sure would. Colourful displays and a big fat sign shouting 'offer for £5.99' was simply enough to lure me in. I swear Boots can sense my weaknesses.
As a daily falsies wearer myself, I'm not typically a huge mascara junkie... but who can resist Barbara Palvin on the advertisements.

The Procrastinator Tag

Seeing this tag had my name written all over it. I'm ashamed to admit, but I'm huge procrastinator. I would like to thank the lovely Iqra from The Blushing Giraffe for tagging me. If you haven't already, go check her blog out!
As for the tag, lets get started.

Boxing Day Beauty Picks

So its been... a while. I know there's no room for excuses but I've been beyond busy this holiday with family, so much so, I haven't even gotten round to doing an ounce of college work. There goes my fabulous mock results.

Anyways, I wanted to quickly share the few beauty bits I picked up while doing my rounds on Boxing day. It's certainly not a lot, but my focus this year was to mainly update what was hanging in my wardrobe and so when it came round to beauty, my budget was pretty much blown.
I did however find the No7 liners in boots hidden on the corner of the shelves, and it just so happened to the very last one. I couldn't really refuse and figured it was just plain fate. Swatching them, they seem to have a soft, creamy formula, so I'm looking forward to trying them out.

Lastly, while queuing at the tills in Topshop, I found these gems at a wondrous price of £3 a piece. I've already tested these beauties out and they're amazing; quick to apply and will not budge!

I hope you all had a wonderful christmas but since its already New Years Eve, I wish you all a happy New year!

Eyes Of The Day #2 : Neutral

Its all about the vamped lip this fall and winter and so as a result, the rest of the face should be more on the neutral side. Most just add a touch of liner and mascara to the eyes when rocking a bold lip colour but I still quite like to define the crease a little just give my eyes a bit of definition and so as not to get too lost.
These are the lashes I wear on a daily basis, I've said many a time that my natural lashes are practically none existent and so need an extra little boost. I will also forever be in love with the Beige Rimmel liner, it simply turns my 'slept for 3 hours due to youtube' look into 'I just had 10 hours beauty sleep' chic.

THOUGHTS: BourJois Happy Light Primer

This was another new released base purchased in the ever adored 3 for 2 Boots Offer. I am constantly on the look out for a high performing budget primer that will keep the oils at bay. So when drugstore brands release their own version I'm always eager to give it ago in a hopes that eventually one will tick all the boxes. I've read the odd post on this just before the public could get their hands on them but once entering stores, it hasn't received much hype.

THOUGHTS: L'Oréal Nude Magique Foundation

The Boots 3 for 2 offer lured me in as always and this time around, I decided to try out a few new released bases. There have been a few whispers on this particular release but all were fairly positive and the concept of a 'fresh feel foundation' and 'weightless perfection' definitely intrigued me enough to give it a go.

NOTD #6 : The Christmas Red

In my eyes, when Halloween has been and gone, Christmas comes rolling right in, dragging behind it the overly large winter wear and festive feeling. I absolutely love every aspect of christmas and though I hate to say it, would be nothing without the frosted weather conditions.

MAC RiRi hearts fall Collection: RiRi Woo

Lets just take a minute to marvel at the splendour (as my biology teacher would say...) at this simply divine packaging. I'm an absolute sucker for pretty packaging, but when sights turn to Rose gold, well then thats enough to make me weak at the knees. When first witnessing the collection's release and pictures nearing the end of summer, I had my eyes set on RiRi Woo as wasn't fast enough to snap it up in the previous collection.

Fragrance Direct Mini Haul

I think this is the absolute longest I've ever gone without blogging... apart from when I was travelling the US for 2 weeks. College sucks and I have been trying to catch up and revise for internal exams that the college ever so kindly decided to bestow upon us.

Anyway, I was recently browsing through Fragrance Direct and purchased a few bits just to keep my beauty obsession alive. Now, I won't really go into too much detail on the individual products themselves as I'm sure reviews will pop up some time soon.

MONTHLY FAVOURITES: September

LEFT - Bronzing Primer | RIGHT - Age rewind Concealer

September for me, is always the month of denial. I refuse to believe that summer is over until October hits. I absolutely despise cold weather and the daylights getting shorter so I dread when this time of the year comes rolling round. Of course, I love christmas as I'm sure 99.9% of the population do, its uplifting joyful and festive, but until then, lets all just mourn over the fact that summer has now seised to exist.

Wow. what an uplifting introduction that was. On the positive side.. Pumpkin Spice Lattes... lets have a show of hands over who could drink this till the cows stop mooing. Me! Right, enough of that, on with the favourites!

My Love For Fuzzy Socks

                                                              (Primark- £3.00)

It is now October 1st which means halloween is essentially just round the corner and I'm excited to say that pumpkin spice latte is coming into season soon at Starbucks... I am beyond excited, more so than the average person should be in relation to hot coffee beverages.

Off topic introduction over. I have quite cold feet most of the time due to bad circulation; so when fall and winter comes around, along with the dreaded change in weather, I rely on my best friend, the fuzzy sock, to keep my piggies toasty... and from falling off.
Now, My darling mother knows full well how much I complain, so she ever so kindly picked these up during a little shopping trip. These are probably the first of many I will be getting my hands on this winter as I practically live in them and need a constant change in sock scenery.

The pattern is oh so festive and is already pulling me into the christmas spirit, but they are SO comfy adorned in gorgeously soft lining! They also have rubber discs stuck to the bottom for grip on tiles and slippery floors for the less coordinated of the bunch.

As soon as I return from college I slip these puppies on and its just simple bliss.

If you are looking for a cheap but comfy pair for yourselves I highly recommend primark, thats essentially where I purchase my supply. 2 pairs for like £2 - £2.50 which is quite the bargain considering they're fairly good quality!

Let me know what your favourite accessory is in the fall/winter!

Introducing : STYLIGHT

Having been recently introduced to this site and thought I would share my thoughts and opinions on what the site has to offer and how it may help or even benefit all you that are fond of fashion or even a blogger much like myself.

I am constantly on the look out for outfit inspirations and how I can pair key pieces with one another and Instagram accounts have often provided me with some fancy pictures. However, as of right now, I've found a fabulous new source..STYLIGHT ... now the capitals isn't really for my effective purposes, the brand is actually in caps. Stands out, don't you think?

THOUGHTS: Maybelline 'Diamond Glow' Quad

(£7.19)

When I finally decide to release my grasp off summer, I automatically go on the hunt for the classic autumnal shades. Auburns, dark woody tones, all of which I have a slight love for.

Baby Lips VS Smoochies

LEFT- Covergirl's Smoochies in '#Tweet Me' | RIGHT- Maybelline Babylips in 'Cherry Me'
Tinted lip balms have been quite the rage this summer, so naturally on my travels to the US, I felt obliged to collect a few that I did not yet own or were not available in the UK. Of course with my luck, as soon as I finally get my hands on the coveted Maybelline BabyLips, the drugstores decide to release them in the UK... which I guess in a way is a good thing.
