Top 5 Spring Nail Picks 2014

With spring come the pastels, and oh how I love the continuous trend. If you live in the not so sunny UK (like myself), sun doesn't really make an appearance till around June so till then, coats are still a tiring staple. A Pastel offering is but a way to still celebrate spring without attempting a day without the coat and thoroughly regretting the awful decision.

Lets Talk Nail Care

Nail polish has to be the very first beauty product I fell in love with, essentially introducing me to the world that is beauty. Now, I have slight confession to make... I used to bite my nails. Yep, ever heard of a nail addict that used to vigorously tear at her poor nails ... that was me. This was until I discovered nail art and all the wondrous colours that could adorn my fingers. Since then, I would say I keep my nails in quite a healthy condition and will always, and I mean always have polish on.

MONTHLY FAVOURITES: November

Cozying up on the couch with a lovingly warm cranberry and raspberry cuppa; racking my brain on how to introduce this post, I'm wondering how this year has flown by so quickly. It seems most unreal that the next time I'll be contemplating on how to start a monthly favourites post, christmas will have already been and gone. Crazy, I know.
Right, enough with the deep thoughts. This month has been somewhat uneventful; a few shopping trips and the usual dinners out but nothing too extravagant. In terms of make up, I've been chopping and changing on a daily basis, desiring the vamped lip one day but a smoked eye the next.

NOTD #7 : The Statement White

Barry M's - White (£2.99)

Just a sneakily quick post on whats been adorning my nails for the past week or so. White or so called 'tipp-ex' nails have been a lingering trend for quite some time and especially over the summer when complimenting our glowing tans that we worked oh so hard for. However, I find that this simply makes such an effortless statement, one in which typically takes no more than 5-10 minutes with 2 coats and fits both the warmer and cooler seasons. If I'm still lusting after a bold nail choice but am too damn lazy to get a little creative with nail art then this is what I tend to steer towards. Of course when it gets near to christmas then a few festive creations will be greeting these pages but for now, I think I'll be sticking with the lazily white offering.

Nails: A Touch Of Glitter

Generally, I love a good glittering set of nails through all seasons but I feel that christmas makes it slightly more acceptable to go overboard. Glitter top coats are a super quick and easy way to spice up an everyday shade, either as a full set or a more elegant accent nail. Here are just a few that are going to be tickling my fancy this festive season.

AUTUMN PICKS: Nails

Hey there lovely people, Hope you're all having a nice week :) Anyways, I thought I would just quickly share a few of my favourite fall polishes. As stated in my 'Autumn Post'  I do lean towards both opposite ends of the spectrum, either a sophisticated nude or a more vamped burgundy.

The Autumn Post

Left to Right: MAC's 'Rebel | Revlon's 'Berry Smoothie' | MAC blush 'Pinch Me'

This post had to be done. I absolutely adore changing up my make up to fit the seasons. Granted, I usually just go with the flow and sport a dark lip in the summer if I please, but generally, I like to look like I suite the weather.
So with autumn/fall come the classic dark burgundies, berries and rustic tones which I do tend to steer towards and these are just some of my favourites.

NOTD #3

I love love love nail art but I haven't really had time to do anything jazzy to my nails recently. This design is quite tame compared to my usual designs but I thought it went perfectly with the neutral base shade (which is still by far one of my absolute favourites!)

This design just involves:- BARRY M Gelly Hi-shine in 'Lychee' and a Nail art pen in white

 (from ebay)
If you are looking for nail art pens then I highly suggest purchasing them from Ebay, you can get a bulk load of colours for a bargain-ous price!

NOTD #1

After the miraculous weather change that the UK has been having recently, I have, of course, taken advantage of the sunshine and bagged myself quite the tan
So in order to enhance my newly bronzed skin I decided to paint my nails in a bright Coral almost orange toned red shade, perfect for the summer!

I used Barry M's 'Coral'. I have always been a fan of Barry M nail paints and I remember it being the first vanish I bought and now in fact makes up the majority of my collection.
So I highly recommend this shade for summer for that bright, almost neon pop of colour and just Barry M nail polishes in general!

NailArt: My Justin Bieber Design

So I know Justin Bieber isn't to everyones taste but I guess you could call me a fan.. that has more than a few posters and a cardboard cut out but I promise I'm not a crazy stalker!

Anyways, I love nail art and it's something that I have been doing for quite a while now so I thought it would be good to start posting some of my nail designs on here just to add a bit of variety.

For this design I used:-

  • BARRY M-

white, lemon ice cream, bright purple, magenta glitter, black and white.
(as you can tell, I'm a bit obsessed with Barry M polishes!)

  • NailArt striper polishes (for the lines and piano)-  you can easily find these online on Ebay and Amazon for a reasonable price

  • Dotting Tools - You can also find these on Ebay and Amazon for just a few pounds and they will be so useful if you want to carry on experimenting with nailArt

In the future I may start doing a step by step post on some of my designs,
